Longshore Golf Course Halfway House
The Friends are delighted to support the efforts of the 9th ½ Hole Committee to construct a new Halfway House near the 9th Green of the Westport's historic Longshore Golf Course.
The new Halfway House will provide a permanent replacement of the former Longshore Golf Course halfway house that was destroyed by fire in 2003 and was replaced by a temporary trailer now in a dilapidated condition.
The Halfway House, besides serving quick foods, snacks and drinks to golfers after the 9th hole, will serve as a storm shelter for golfers and those using the park for alternative recreation (walkers, runners, bikers) and be grounded for lightening protection. It will provide clean and fresh toilet facilities as well as eliminate the unsightly temporary trailer that detracts from the aesthetics of the golf course in general.
