A Westport resident since 1998, Scott Smith is active in local community affairs, most recently serving as chair of the town-appointed Longshore 50th Anniversary Committee. He has also been a member of Westport's Golf Advisory Committee since its formation in 2002.

Mr. Smith previously held the position of director of communications, editor, for the United States Golf Association. He has been a staff writer and editor for a number of magazines, including Business Week, Bon Appetit and Golf Digest. In January, 2011, Mr. Smith joined the Westport Weston Family Y as director of communications.
